The Honor's College Experience

This week our big objective is to come up with a project that will have us putting in 20 to 25 hours of our time this semester. I have decided to make my project investigating the honor societies and join one of them and invest my 20 to 25 hours into the organization. Phi Theta Kappa at Walter State was the society that most helped me during my associates degree and secured my full tuition here at ETSU through the Midway Honors Scholarship. I will be looking for a society that pushes me to be the best student and individual that I can be along with making the biggest impact on my school and community. I want this to be my project because I find through an honor society one can make a difference, if they want too. I am hoping that the honor society for the College of Business and Tech. honor society sends me an invitation, along with the four year equal to Phi Theta Kappa. On January 31, 2018 I received an invitation to attend the info session for Phi Sigma Pi. This meeting lasted an hour. During the meeting the president of the chapter went over the questions of who, what, when, where, and why's of joining the Honor Society Coed Fraternity . I was excited about maybe being in my first fraternity. During the meeting I had to make a decision on if I would be able to fulfill the requirements of the organization. They hold weekly meetings, and attendance is mandatory. I felt as thought I would not be able to commit myself to these meetings as no one was able to ensure on what day of the week they would be on. I am only in Johnson City on Monday nights through Thursday at 5:35 p.m. I did not join, but I am looking for other honor societies that may better fit my busy schedule.
