SemesterII Week#9 Honors College Experience

On March 23 and 24, I attended the Tennessee Regional Conference for Phi Theta Kappa. From 10 A.M. to 10 P.M. on Friday, and from 8 A.M. to 9 P.M. on Saturday. This is 25hrs and completes my requirements for the semester. I had a blast, as I always do when PTK is involved. I spent the weekend with my old chapter as an Alumni and helped them with several chapter needs. The first was a Chandler Cheer. Chandler bear is the spirit bear for the Tennessee Region. At each regional convention perform a cheer made up by each chapter that includes all the pillars of PTK, which include leadership, fellowship, scholarship, and service. At roll call the second day each team preforms their skits and the judge make a decision on who's was the best. The chapter that was appointed winner gets to keep chandler bear until the next regional convention. This is a very competitive event. Chandler is very sought after. The next thing I done was attend several breakout sessions that went over a wide vari

Semester II Week#8 Honors College Experience

This week I was sent an invitation to join Tau Sigma. Which is a Transfer Student Transfer Honor Society here at ETSU. I accepted my membership and plan on becoming involved. The current president for the chapter of the honor society at ETSU graduates at the end of the semester and I plan on running for the position. If I get elected to the position of president, I am sure this will complete my 25hr requirement for my semester project. I will attend my induction ceremony in April 2018. I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to all it entails.

Semester II Week#5 Honors College Experience

This week I received an email inviting me to join Tau Sigma, a Transfer Student Honor Society here at ETSU. I have already decided that I like what they stand for and will be accepting my invitation. I have already spoke with Jennifer Rice about running for an officer position at the end of the semester, as the current President will be graduating. I hope this opens up many doors for me and gives me the chance to serve my school and community. I look forward to this amazing opportunity. I am still hopeful of getting inducted into the Business Honor Society. I just need to talk with Dr. Tom Moore to see when they induct. He is my thesis mentor so I should find out soon enough. When you apply/invest yourself  into something you love, nothing but great things are to follow. If you want to receive great things then go out into this world and do great things.

Semester II Week# 4 Honors College Experience

On Wednesday the 21st of February I attended the weekly meeting for Phi Theta Kappa at Walters State Community College. I was awarded Most Distinguished Alumni 2018 for the chapter. I have also been put in the running for the award at the regional and international level. At this meeting I was asked to head the meeting for the President. I updated all the members of the weekly activities. The meeting lasted an hour. We also made plans for regional conference coming up, which I will be attending. It is always a great feeling to know that the work you have done has been appreciated. PTK has done so much for me, and I have poured my heart and soul into PTK. A relationship I hope never dwindles.
