Week # 5 Honors College Experience Part I

The Student Transfer Committee meet on Monday September 25, 2017. We had a quest speaker from the school that talked about ways to be evolved on campus. He also revealed the new design for the Culp on campus. We learned of several different ways of staying informed as to upcoming events on campus. For instance the calendar, through email, and by flyers. We also voted on the design of our committee's new shirt. I was impressed by how sleek they will turn out. We also discussed how our committee could be more involved on campus and where we could make a difference in new student transfers.  Several different ideas came up and a few sub-committees were formed. I am one of the Student Ambassador. We will be paring up with incoming transfer student that would like to have a more in depth transfer experience. Along with working with other groups on campus that may need a lending hand. All of these different sub-committees should help build a better foundation for incoming transfer students which should increase graduation rates. I look forward to the doors that will be opened to me because of being a part of this awesome committee. You never know when helping someone else with even the smallest of things can turn into such a huge blessing which showers opportunities upon you. Be involved, you are not the only person that will benefit from your doing so. The meeting lasted an hour and a half.
