Semester III Week#3 Honors College Experience

     On September the 14, I was part of a student panel for the Department of Education's Online Retreat. I sat on three different panels. Each was the same student panel but a different set of faculty.  I was asked by the Honors College to participate. I agreed. The panel was insight for faculty because it gave them the students perspective on online classes. The students was asked questions about engagement, thing we liked and disliked, and was asked for any ideas they we may have to better their classes. The panel ended up more of a debate, but I think this was very helpful for the faculty there because it let them see us voice concerns about different side of the story. Now they can better structure their class to ensure student are better engaged and ending with better grades. It was nice being on this panel. I was the only undergrad there, so that was a bit crazy. I held my ground though and was well received. It was amazing to be part of something that produces change and makes life easier for a group of individuals. I was at this event from 12p.m. till 4p.m. Giving me a total of 4 hours towards my requirements for Collo.

Semester II Week#15 for Honors College Experience

This is the last post for the semester. As I reflect back on my goals and compare them to my accomplishments, I must say that I am very proud that I have meet each goal that I set. I also went above the requirements of the course because that is just how I role. I want to help as many individuals as possible. I am impressed that I have come out of my shell a bit more this semester and I am not hating ETSU anymore. I have found my niche. It is also hard to believe that as of the end of this week I have became a senior in college. Man, how time flies when you having "fun". Week#1 of the Honors College Experience

I attended the first meeting of the Adult Student Transfer Committee on Monday, August 28,2017. During this meeting the committee talked about various ways that administration could improve the transfer process. That would lead to a smoother transfer experience. Several programs was brought up that would make this mission a reality. The most common solution was more events that would connect transfer and incoming students together in a more tight fitting way. These ideas are in the process of being brought up to the Adult Transfer Committee and is hoping to be approved. This meeting was 1.5 hours long. I am using this time towards my 5 hours of volunteering for my Honors Collo requirements. This gave me an opportunity to meet and become more acquainted with faculty and administration here at ETSU. Semester IV Week 6 Honors College Experience

This week I focused on others and how I play a role in not only making things happen for me but for every one around me. When you are in line and totally connected to the planet then you bring about change in others. Seeing is believing. When one sees that your different in a good way they want to know what and how you have changed. We are all just trying to make it the best way we know how through this thing called life. Do not be discouraged, everyone faces advertises. Turn that stumbling block into stepping stones. This week was another 3.5 hours for a total of 14 hours of the required 30.
